What is acne vulgaris?

Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disease of the sebaceous glands and hair follicle orifices. It occurs mainly in young people. It appears in the sebaceous areas – face and back.

The causes of acne formation include: inflammatory and immunological reaction, increased sebum production, blockage of the hair and sebaceous apparatus. Genes also have a strong influence on the occurrence of acne lesions. If the parents have a history of acne, there is a good chance that the child will also be affected. The secretion of sebum is also controlled by hormones. High sebum secretion can be caused by the overproduction of certain hormones. Acne vulgaris can also occur in adults.

Symptoms of acne vulgaris

There are many symptoms of acne. Mainly, these are various types of skin lesions, which are also shown by redness of the skin. The most characteristic symptoms are: blackheads, papules, pustules, purulent cysts and scars. Blackheads are non-inflammatory lesions. They are formed by the accumulation of sebum and keratinised epidermal cells in the orifices of the sebaceous glands. There are two types of blackheads – open – small, dark spots, closed – white, small spots visible to the naked eye. Their colour is not dependent on hygiene. The papules develop and protrude above the surface of healthy skin and do not leave scars. Some of them cause the appearance of pus-filled cysts. Pimples are pus-filled blisters. These are the most common lesions to appear. Pus-filled cysts develop on top of papules and pustules. The cysts can leave scars. Scarring is the result of healing of inflamed areas.

Clinical forms of acne

Depending on the severity of acne, there are different varieties. Blackhead acne – low in severity, found mainly on the face, appears at puberty and subsides. Papulopustular acne – in addition to blackheads, inflammation occurs. Acne suppurative – blackheads, papules, pustules, cysts occur and leave scars.

Treatment of acne vulgaris

The best solution for suspected acne lesions is to see a dermatologist. The doctor will assess the condition and prescribe further treatment. At the Dr Stachura Clinic, there are a number of treatments to help you get rid of your common, juvenile acne. We will take care of all acne lesions and acne scars that often cause visual discomfort. We cover a variety of aesthetic medicine treatments, including acne treatment, skin care and cleansing.

CO2 fractional laser

Fractional laser treatment is used for blackheads, scars and enlarged pores, among other conditions. This treatment involves stimulating cells to increase the rate of collagen production. It also accelerates the entire regeneration process. It can be used on the entire face. CO2 fractional laser technology is based on the use of a laser beam. Light pulses are sent out to cause controlled damage to epidermal cells and initiate regeneration and remodelling.

Pharmaceutical cosmetics formula

These are treatments and a line of pharmaceutical cosmetics that care for the skin and have healing properties. Their formula is based on medical procedures and contains a blend of the most well-known and effective acids, vitamins, antioxidants, amino acids and anti-inflammatory substances. For better treatment results, each treatment can be enhanced with a vitamin C booster.

The treatment consists of the application of a base mask, which is mixed with appropriate ampoules. Indications for this treatment are: acne-prone skin, rosacea, skin with hyperpigmentation.

LED light therapy

LED light therapy uses a combination of different light wavelengths tailored to the specific case to stimulate collagen and elastin production and reduce irritation. This treatment takes approximately 20 minutes and requires no recovery period. Indications for the treatment are mainly acne lesions – mild and advanced, multiple inflammations, cysts, cysts, oily skin, enlarged pores.
