Platelet-rich plasma

Platelet-rich plasma

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) procedures have been performed only in closed medicine for a long time, however, after many studies, this therapy was also used in aesthetic medicine, where it became famous under the name „vampire lifting”.

How does the procedure look like?

During the procedure, a blood preparation is obtained, which is obtained using blood collected from the patient. This preparation is called a concentrate of own platelets in a small volume of plasma. Thrombocytes, or platelets, are carriers of growth factors that are necessary to start regenerative processes in the skin. Administration in high concentration has a very beneficial, scientifically proven effect on the skin. Studies show an improvement in the quality of the skin, its volume, elasticity, tension as well as delaying the appearance of wrinkles.

What is the procedure?

Plasma is administered to the skin by two methods depending on the type of plasma. We distinguish PRP plasma (without the addition of hyaluronic acid) and Cellular Matrix plasma (with the addition of non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid). PRP plasma is administered by the method of mesotherapy, i.e. intradermal introduction of the substance. In contrast, Cellular Matrix plasma is administered subcutaneously using a micro cannula.

Which plasma is best to choose?

PRP plasma is best used in scalp mesotherapy for thinning or androgenetic alopecia and in the treatment of scars.

Cellular Matrix plasma (with the addition of hyaluronic acid) gives spectacular effects in the case of revitalization of face, neck, cleavage and hands. This treatment is intended for all people, we use it preventively, regeneratively and to improve the quality of the skin. Platelet rich plasma has a broad spectrum of activity.

Therapy is used to:

  • Improve skin elasticity and regeneration.
  • Improve the aesthetics of scars (post-traumatic, acne, keloids).
  • Eliminate wrinkles.
  • Thicken and stimulate hair regrowth.
  • Improve skin tone.
  • Eliminate of shadows under the eyes.
  • Hair loss: a course of various types of baldness – especially androgenetic and alopecia areata.
  • stretch marks.

Effects

How long does the effect last?

The first effects are visible after two weeks. Patients notice a significant improvement in skin elasticity and density. In the case of a series of treatments, the effects are more durable. After the first two treatments, the effects of natural regeneration of the skin tissue are visible. In the case of thinning or baldness treatment, we expect effects from 3 to 6 months.

Contraindications

Platelet-rich plasma is a very safe procedure, but nevertheless there are contraindications:

  • Cancers.
  • Thrombocytopenia.
  • Pregnancy and lactation.
  • Taking medications that prolong bleeding time (e.g. anticoagulants, aspirin).
