Botulinum toxin (botulinum)

Wrinkles are an inseparable, though often unwanted companion of the aging process. They arise as a result of regular contraction of the facial expression muscles, e.g. around the forehead or eye corners. At Dr Stachura Clinic, we offer a very effective solution to the problem of wrinkles – the use of botulinum. It is the most commonly performed procedure in the field of aesthetic medicine around the world, successfully used for both women and men. A properly performed botulinum procedure allows to eliminate or significantly reduce the risk of wrinkles. What’s more, regular use of botulinum also allows you to reduce those imperfections that have arisen in the past.

Our Clinic uses the first liquid botulinum toxin type A – an innovative neuromodulator. Modern form of botulinum toxin in a form of ready to use solution, which allows to quickly and effectively smooth mimic wrinkles. The first effects are visible within 24 hours and last up to 6 months.

How botulinum works and what are its uses?

Botulinum toxin, works on nerve fibres, blocking the signals sent between them. In practice, this translates into two main effects. When we inject muscles, the first effect is expressed in the form of long-term muscle relaxation. In this way, we prevent its excessive shrinkage, and thus – the formation of wrinkles. In addition, it can also be used to reduce sweat production, which is extremely beneficial for people suffering from hyperhidrosis.

Another application of botulinum is to support the regeneration of scars in the early and late postoperative period. Topically administered botulin reduces muscle tension around the scar, which has a positive effect on its formation and remodelling. Dr. Stachura also performs the so-called “Skin Botox”. It is a form of mesotherapy that is used all over the face to narrow pores and improve skin firmness.

What problems can botulinum toxin solve?

  • Prevention or reduction of wrinkles in the area of forehead and the outer corners of the eyes (so-called crow’s feet).
  • Hyperhidrosis around hands, feet, armpits, hair on the scalp and face.
  • Reducing masseter muscle tone – bruxism treatment.
  • Improving regeneration and remodelling of scars
  • „Skin Botox” – beneficial effect on the skin

Contraindications for the procedure are pregnancy, breastfeeding, infections and inflammation of the skin, neuromuscular conduction disorders and taking certain medications.

What is Skin Botox?

Skin Botox (also called Mezo Botox) is a treatment using botulinum toxin. However, in this case, botulinum toxin is not injected deep into the area of mimic wrinkles, but into the outer surface of the facial skin. Such surface stimulation of the skin sensationally improves its structure. The treatment smooths out small wrinkles and leaves the skin perfectly smooth. The extraordinary advantage of the treatment is also narrowing of the enlarged pores. As a consequence, there is a lower tendency to create skin imperfections in the form of pimples or inflammation.

How quickly the effects are visible and how long they last?

First effects of the treatment are visible almost immediately, but the best results are noticeable after 2 weeks. The effects of the treatment last from 3 to 6 months.
