Alopecia part 2 – diagnosis and treatment of alopecia

When we see excessive hair loss, strong thinning or unsightly patches of skin with hair loss, we immediately receive alarming signals that this situation should be examined by a doctor. Androgenetic and plaque alopecia are two different types of hair loss with different causes. You can read about it in our earlier post, and today a few words about the diagnosis of these ailments and methods of professional treatment.

As you know – there can be many causes of hair loss. From the lifestyle, stress level, diet, lack of micronutrients in the body, through chronic diseases to genetic determinants, there are many possible causes of alopecia. People who observe disturbing signals in themselves in the form of balding patches on the body or increased hair loss and thinning, more and more often decide to visit a professional. A dermatologist, with the support of modern diagnostic methods, is able to properly recognize the underlying problem of alopecia, accurately diagnose its type and adjust an individually selected treatment method. More and more people seek medical consultation at a fairly early stage of baldness. This is very good because the earlier the patient is properly diagnosed and treated, the better the chances of the lost hair rebuild.

The growing awareness of this problem in the society and the undoubted progress of medicine in the treatment of baldness mean that we now have access to the possibility of diagnosing and verifying the condition of the hair completely non-invasively. Trichoslopia is an innovative test with which we are able to carefully look at a single hair on the body and scalp, which also has a huge impact on the condition of the hair. This method allows the observation and evaluation of structures at the level of the epidermis, the dermal-epidermal border and the upper layers of the dermis and hair. In this way, we are able to take a close look at the scalp and hair even with a magnification of 70 times. The test is completely non-invasive and painless and consists in applying a camera / camera to the scalp and hair roots. Taking a few professional photos and sending the test to a specialized laboratory helps us, after obtaining the test results, the observation and assessment of the hair shaft structure without the need to collect the hair for examination under a microscope. Trichoscopy shows the condition of the skin, the amount of hair, hair follicles and hair structure. Thanks to the conducted examination, we can more precisely define the patient’s problem.

Before visiting the trichoscopy, it is worth remembering a few aspects that will help you better prepare for the examination:

  • on the day of the visit, and preferably 24 hours before, do not wash your hair and do not use any styling or care products,
  • prepare a list of dietary supplements that you take,
  • if you have current blood tests – take the results with you,
  • be prepared for questions about your lifestyle, diet and hair products that you use,
  • think about when the problem with hair loss started and what methods you have used so far.

Thanks to the appropriate and accurate diagnosis of baldness, we are able to offer an effective treatment. An innovative method that is becoming more and more popular due to the amazing effects it guarantees is a treatment., that consists in giving the skin, which is affected by the problem of andorogenic alopecia, with its own stem cells. Using the achievements of modern biotechnology, we can effectively reverse the effects of alopecia in both women and men suffering from androgenetic alopecia. The treatment uses an autologous cell transplant – that is, one in which the patient is both a donor and a recipient. This guarantees the safety and acceptance of the introduced cells by the body – no allergic and inflammatory reactions or rejection of the transplant.

The first stage of the procedure is taking tissue from the patient. Most often it is done by cutting out small pieces of skin (about 2.5 mm) from the neck area, behind the ear, because these are places that are not very prone to androgenic alopecia and heal quickly on their own. The areas before skin collection are local anesthetized for greater patient comfort.

The second step is to obtain a special preparation with the patient’s stem cells in the device. It consists in the calibration and separation of cells, thanks to which we obtain a suspension with a rich content of progenitor, precursor and stem cells, as well as growth factors.

The third and final step is to apply the prepared preparation to the skin using needle mesotherapy. Thanks to this, we reach the deep layers of the skin and stimulate the hair follicles to work and hair growth.

The treatment does not require a series of treatments. It only takes about 40 minutes, and a single treatment with this method is enough to stop hair loss and rebuild lost hair.

The treatment can be repeated after 2–3 years to avoid further hair loss. Spectacular effects undoubtedly change the lives of our patients and allow them to enjoy beautiful and lush hair.
